Columbus City Schools unveiled a phased realignment plan during a Board of Education meeting on June 3, aiming to modernize facilities and align school structures with its long-term instructional vision. The initiative follows a December 2024 vote to repurpose five facilities. Broadleigh Elementary, Moler Elementary, Buckeye Middle School, McGuffey (Columbus Alternative High School site, and West Broad Elementary will close due to outdated infrastructure and limited instructional alignment. The schools will be closed in phases, starting with Broadleigh and Moler at the end of the 2025-2026 academic year.
