HAMMONDSVILLE, Ohio-Edison Local Schools marked Veterans Day with a special assembly instead of a day off. During the event, students learned the significance of Veterans Day, including the meaning of “the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month.” Local veterans from the American Legion Post 740, including Mr. Dave Schultz, Mrs. Caitlyn Schultz, R. William Koehnlein, and Mr. Tony Kovalesky, participated by delivering patriotic messages and readings. The assembly featured the high school band, poems, and the recognition of three staff veterans. History teacher Paul Baker emphasized the importance of students understanding the contributions these veterans made for the country.
