MAPLETON, Ohio-Mapleton Elementary School hosted its annual Christmas event with a literacy-focused twist, welcoming around 400 students and parents. The event included activities like meeting Mr. and Mrs. Claus, writing letters to Santa, listening to stories, and crafting cards for nursing homes.
Cassie Swanson, a literacy coach, emphasized the educational value of these activities in promoting reading and writing skills among students. The event was organized by the Leadership Literacy Team in collaboration with the Mapleton Elementary PTO, offering breakfast alongside creative activities like letter-writing prompts for younger children and wish lists for older students.
