He attended Miami University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1969, and later graduated with a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University College of Law in 1972.

Governor DeWine’s journey into public service began as an assistant prosecutor for Greene County before being elected county prosecutor. His dedication to justice and public welfare quickly earned him recognition, and he transitioned into state and national politics, serving as a U.S. Representative, Ohio State Senator, Lieutenant Governor, U.S. Senator, Attorney General, and, since 2019, Governor of Ohio.

A devoted husband and father, he met his wife Fran in the first grade, and they married while attending Miami University. Together, they’ve raised eight children and are proud grandparents to 26 grandchildren. His commitment to family has profoundly influenced his vision for Ohio, where he seeks to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive.The DeWines understand the joys and challenges of raising a family and have made it their mission to support others in doing the same.
