Newton Falls Student Earns Prestigious Congressional Silver Medal

Ellie Falb, a student at Newton Falls High School, has made history as the first in the school’s history to earn the Congressional Silver Medal, an honor awarded by the United States Congress. This achievement recognizes outstanding initiative, service, and personal development through the Congressional Award Program.
To earn the Silver Medal, Falb committed to setting and achieving ambitious goals across four key program areas. According to a news release, she logged 195 hours in physical fitness, 255 hours in personal development, and an impressive 503 hours of voluntary public service. Her dedication reflects a strong work ethic and a deep commitment to both personal growth and community involvement.
Falb now has her sights set on the Congressional Gold Medal, the program’s highest honor. She plans to continue her work and attend the national award ceremony in Washington, D.C. in June 2026.
Her accomplishment not only highlights her individual determination but also serves as a proud moment for the Newton Falls community.
