Anderson High School will remain closed on Monday, February 24, due to an electrical system malfunction caused by water damage. This closure applies only to Anderson High School and does not affect other schools within the Forest Hills School District.

Transportation services to the Oaks, non-public schools, and other outside programs will continue as scheduled. However, both the Experience Program and the Transition to Work Program will be closed, as they share a campus with Anderson High School. Additionally, all after-school activities, athletics, and extracurricular events scheduled at Anderson High School on Monday are canceled unless coaches or advisors provide alternative arrangements.

The ACT test, originally set for Tuesday, February 27, has been rescheduled to March 11 to allow 11th-grade students and their families time to adjust their plans.

The electrical issues began last Thursday when a burst fire sprinkler head, caused by freezing temperatures, led to water exposure in several parts of the building’s electrical system. Maintenance teams and external electrical contractors have been working throughout the weekend to resolve the problem. While significant progress has been made, final parts still need to be installed, and a full series of inspections is required before the school can safely reopen.
