Robbie Banks, the secretary at Broadleigh Elementary School, was named the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA) Secretary of the Year.
Banks has been at Broadleigh for seven years and is deeply dedicated to the students, considering all 300 of them as her own.
She prioritizes building connections with both students and parents, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and valued at the school.
Banks was praised for her ability to make people feel comfortable, with one parent commending her for always making visitors feel welcome.
Dr. Kristy Leigh, the school’s principal, described Banks as the “heartbeat” of the school because of her selflessness and dedication.
Banks focuses on creating a positive environment for students, greeting them warmly each morning to help set a positive tone for their day.
She aims to make the office a safe space where students feel comfortable sharing anything they need to, offering herself as a listening ear.
