Children Spotlight of the Week: Aidan Dickson – A Leader in Faith, Academics, and Community Service

In this week’s Children Spotlight, we celebrate Aidan Dickson, a remarkable senior at New Albany High School, whose dedication to academics, leadership, and faith has made a lasting impact on his school and community.
Aidan is not just an outstanding student, he is a role model in every sense. Academically, he has been recognized as a National Merit Commended Scholar, a 2023 AP Scholar, and a 2024 AP Scholar with Distinction, showcasing his commitment to excellence in education.
Beyond academics, Aidan shines as a leader. As the captain of New Albany’s varsity hockey team, he has demonstrated determination, discipline, and teamwork, earning the Hobey Baker Award in his junior year for his exceptional sportsmanship and character.
However, Aidan’s leadership extends far beyond the rink. He is deeply involved in Grace Powell Church, serving on the student leadership team and worship band. His passion for faith and service is evident in his efforts to lead Bible studies in both Powell and New Albany, where he helps guide and inspire his peers.
Aidan’s commitment to serving others reached a global scale when he traveled to Romania on a mission trip. There, he led a summer camp and shared the Gospel with Ukrainian refugees, offering hope and support to children and families displaced by conflict. This experience profoundly impacted him, strengthening his desire to pursue a career in ministry.
Additionally, for his senior seminar project, Aidan helped organize and run a Vacation Bible School for children, further demonstrating his dedication to youth development and community engagement.
Aidan Dickson embodies the qualities of a true leader who is faith-driven, academically accomplished, and deeply committed to serving others. His future is bright, and there is no doubt that his influence will continue to inspire those around him, both locally and globally.
