Children Spotlight of the Week: Pe’tlyn Pruitt – The Young Author Inspiring a Generation

At just 11 years old, Pe’tlyn Pruitt has already made a remarkable impact in the literary world, proving that age is no barrier to achieving greatness. This young girl from Bedford, Ohio, is not just a student, she’s a published author of three books, a creator of an animated YouTube series, and an inspiration to children and adults alike.

Pe’tlyn’s journey began when she published her first book, Lori’s First Day at a New School, at the age of 10. The story, which explores the challenges of transitioning to a new school and making new friends, resonated deeply with young readers and their parents. Many saw it as a comforting guide for children facing similar experiences.

Encouraged by the positive impact of her first book, Pe’tlyn went on to publish her second, Lori’s New Baby Sister, aimed at helping children adjust to the arrival of a new sibling. Not stopping there, she also created an activity book filled with engaging worksheets and uplifting messages for kids.

Her passion for storytelling has since expanded beyond books, she has now launched an animated series based on her character, Lori, on YouTube, further bringing her stories to life and reaching an even wider audience.

Her parents, Pete and Airian Pruitt, have been incredibly supportive, emphasizing the importance of trying one’s best. Pe’tlyn’s success has even motivated adults who now seek guidance on how to become authors themselves.

When asked about her advice to other young dreamers, Pe’tlyn says, If you feel like you want to do something, just go ahead and do it. If you have a dream, you can do it.

Pe’tlyn Pruitt’s story is a powerful reminder that children have limitless potential when given encouragement and the right opportunities. She is a beacon of creativity, determination, and inspiration for young minds everywhere.
