Children Spotlight of the Week: Stella Abad Senior, St. Francis DeSales High School

This week, we proudly spotlight Stella Abad, a remarkable young leader whose achievements reflect excellence, determination, and a commitment to both personal and community growth.
Stella will be graduating Summa Cum Laude from St. Francis DeSales High School, a recognition of her outstanding academic performance. As a dedicated member of the National Honor Society, Stella exemplifies the values of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Stella serves as the President of the Asian and Pacific Islander Student Association, where she leads initiatives that promote cultural awareness, inclusion, and student engagement. Her leadership extends into her role as a Student Ambassador and active member of the Student Council, where she represents her peers and works to foster a positive school environment.
A gifted student-athlete and artist, Stella was a member of the SFD Varsity Tennis Team in the fall. Outside of school, she participates in competitive dance, a discipline that reflects her passion for the arts and her commitment to discipline and creativity.
Stella is also actively involved in the Run the Race Club, which supports underserved children and families through mentorship and community outreach. Her heart for service is as strong as her academic and artistic pursuits.
Stella plans to attend the University of Michigan, where she will pursue a dual degree in Dance (BFA) and Biochemistry (BS). Her ability to merge science and the arts is a powerful example of how diverse interests can coexist and thrive.
