As part of its continued effort to uphold high standards in educating its young citizens and ensuring their right to quality education, the Delaware City Schools has named Keith Pomeroy as its next superintendent.

Pomeroy, who currently serves as the chief academic officer for Upper Arlington City Schools, brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to student achievement.

Board of Education President Melissa Harris expressed the board’s confidence in the decision, emphasizing the thoughtful and inclusive nature of the selection process. “The board appreciated the process and the opportunity to look at a diverse group of qualified candidates.

The search allowed us to reassure ourselves that Keith is the right person for this position at this time. He has an open, collaborative leadership approach and will be highly visible in our schools,” Harris said.

The Board of Education will meet on Monday, July 14, to approve a three-year contract with Pomeroy. He is set to begin his duties as superintendent on August 1 officially.

To welcome him to the community, an open house will be held on Wednesday, July 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Willis Education Center.
