Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio Hits 20 Million Books Milestone

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Ohio has reached an incredible milestone, mailing over 20 million books to children across the state. To celebrate this achievement, Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine hosted a book reading at the Greene County Public Library in Beavercreek, where she read Coat of Many Colors, the book gifted to her by Dolly Parton in 2022.
Since its statewide expansion in 2019, the program has grown rapidly, now reaching 70% of Ohio households with children under five. More than 411,000 children are currently enrolled, receiving a free, high-quality, age-appropriate book every month until their fifth birthday.
This initiative is made possible through funding from the Ohio General Assembly, local program partners, and generous donors, ensuring that families can participate at no cost. By fostering early childhood literacy, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is making a lasting impact on young readers across Ohio.
