Fairborn City Schools officials confirmed that students were safe to attend classes Wednesday following an investigation into an alleged threat made by an 11-year-old student.

On Monday, educators discovered a note on a student’s desk containing threats and immediately contacted the Fairborn Police Department. The student was removed from classes pending investigation, and the case has been referred to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office for further review.

In a message to parents, school officials emphasized the importance of students being mindful of their words and actions. “While we can assure you that there was no danger to students or staff, this situation serves as a strong reminder that words and actions, whether intended as a joke or not, can have serious consequences,” the district wrote.

Fairborn police increased their presence at the school as a precaution, while district officials reassured families that steps had been taken to ensure a safe learning environment.

“The Fairborn City School District prioritizes the safety of our students and staff and we have taken steps and will continue to take steps to address a recent threat made by a student,” the district stated. “Your students are safe to attend school on Wednesday, March 26.”
