Gahanna Lincoln Teacher Named 2024 Ohio Teacher of the Year

Mark Lowrie, a teacher at Gahanna Lincoln High School, has been named the 2024 Ohio Teacher of the Year by the Ohio Education Association.
With a background in broadcast television, Lowrie transitioned to education, dedicating 18 years to teaching before joining Gahanna Lincoln High School. He is celebrated for his exceptional work in building broadcast journalism programs, receiving accolades such as three National Student Production Awards.
OEA President Scott DiMauro praises Lowrie’s commitment to students’ learning and life skills development. Lowrie’s achievement highlights the significance of public education in Ohio, exemplifying the impact of dedicated educators.
He was honored during a ceremony at the high school and attended Jill Biden’s “Teachers of the Year” State Dinner in Washington DC.
