Graham Local Schools Approves Property Tax Increase

In St. Paris, the Graham Local Schools’ Board of Education has approved a property tax increase following a public hearing earlier this week.
The increase, set to take effect next year, will be implemented through a millage adjustment. The timing coincides with Champaign County’s property tax revaluation, which is expected to raise residential property values by 38% and agricultural values by 26%.
While the financial impact will be felt across households and farms, the measure underscores the community’s commitment to strengthening local schools.
Quality education is not only a community investment but also a fulfillment of every child’s right to learn and grow in a supportive environment.
Every child has the right to an education that nurtures their potential, equips them with essential skills, and ensures equal opportunity for their future. This decision reflects the community’s responsibility to uphold that right.
