Here’s the New Interim Head of the Retired Teachers’ Pension Fund

Aaron Hood, a financial expert from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, has been appointed as the interim head of the Ohio State Teachers Retirement System (STRS). The board made the decision during a meeting on Thursday, and Hood will begin his role on November 18, succeeding Lynn Hoover. A search for a permanent executive director is ongoing.
Hood is a Finance Senior Fellow at West Point’s Department of Social Sciences, where he has been teaching for five years, offering courses in financial statement analysis and banking. Previously, he was the executive VP and CFO of Summit Carbon Solutions, an Iowa-based company focused on carbon capture. Hood also worked as a partner and lead asset manager at Perella Weinberg Partners, a global financial firm, where he played a founding role and served as CFO. His finance career includes positions at Morgan Stanley.
Hood is a military veteran, having served as a captain and lieutenant in the Army Corps of Engineers for five years, with leadership roles in the U.S., Germany, and Bosnia. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and is currently on the board of Superior Silica Sands.
