Lakota Schools Announce 2-Hour Delay Due to Power Outage
Lakota Schools will open on a two-hour delay today following a power outage that disrupted the district’s service center.
According to the district, the outage has created significant transportation safety concerns, preventing the use of radios for communication, blocking refueling for buses, and limiting the ability to share routes with drivers.
As a result, all Lakota schools are impacted. Families are advised that school start times and bus routes will run two hours later than usual.
While temporary disruptions can happen, it’s important to remember that every child has a fundamental right to education. Ensuring safe and reliable school operations is essential to upholding that right.
