Governor Mike DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Jon Husted have designated August as Child Support Awareness Month in Ohio to honor the efforts of parents, families, and child support professionals.
Ohio’s child support program, overseen by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS), supports nearly 643,000 children statewide. ODJFS Director Matt Damschroder highlighted that last year, legal paternity was established for 52,000 children, emphasizing the importance of both parents’ support.
The ODJFS Office of Child Support sets policies and provides resources, including a website with a child support calculator and a mobile app for managing case information and payments. Ohioans are encouraged to wear green on August 7 to support the initiative.
