Ohio School Districts Recognized Nationally for Teacher Excellence

For the second year in a row, Mariemont City Schools, a small district just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, has been named the home of the best teachers in America, according to Niche’s 2025 national rankings.
The annual study analyzes U.S. Department of Education data, including teacher tenure, absenteeism, student-teacher ratio, and incorporates millions of student and parent reviews to determine top-performing districts.
Mariemont, with 1,539 students and a 15:1 student-teacher ratio, earned A+ grades not only for its teachers but also for academics, college prep, sports, and extracurriculars. The average teacher salary in the district is $87,223, significantly higher than the national average of $72,030, according to the National Education Association.
Ohio’s Dublin City Schools also ranked in the top 20, while New York led the list with seven districts among the highest ranked, followed by Illinois with four.
