In February 2019, Dr. Amy Acton made history when Ohio Governor Mike DeWine appointed her as the Director of the Ohio Department of Health, making her the first woman physician to hold the position. Known for her decisive leadership, Dr. Acton spearheaded Ohio’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, guiding 11.7 million residents through an unprecedented global crisis.
