Spotlight of the Week: Salina Chimoriya – Licking Heights High School’s Rising Star

This week, we’re proud to shine the Spotlight on an exceptional senior, Salina Chimoriya, whose dedication to academic excellence and community involvement exemplifies the best of Licking Heights High School, Pataskala, Ohio. Salina’s commitment to her studies, leadership roles, and ambition for her future truly set her apart as a distinguished member of the Hornet community.

With a remarkable GPA of 4.37, Salina has excelled academically while tackling a rigorous course load, which includes both College Credit Plus and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Her passion for learning drives her to challenge herself, particularly in math and social sciences, laying a strong foundation for her dream of pursuing a career in law or business. Recently, Salina’s hard work was recognized when she was named a finalist in the prestigious QuestBridge Program. This honor could open doors for her to attend renowned colleges like Cornell or Yale, tuition-free—an opportunity that speaks volumes about her dedication and potential.

Beyond academics, Salina is a vibrant and active participant in the school community. She is a member of the National Honor Society, DECA, Culture Identity Club, Global Scholars, Model UN, Student Council, and the Art Club. Salina’s commitment extends to athletics as well, where she has been a part of the track and field team for three years, embodying both the school’s spirit and the value of teamwork.

As she prepares for life beyond Licking Heights, Salina is eager to continue her journey in college, where she plans to embrace new challenges and explore clubs and organizations that align with her passion for law and leadership. Salina’s accomplishments and spirit make her a true inspiration to her peers and a treasured member of our school community.
