Ohio Children Spotlight for the Month: William Olah, New Albany High School

The Ohio Children Spotlight for August 2025 features William Olah, a distinguished senior at New Albany High School whose exceptional achievements in academics, athletics, and community service have made a lasting impression on his school and beyond.

William’s academic record is exemplary. With a 4.26 GPA, he has consistently earned a place on the honor roll and is a member of the National Honor Society. His commitment to personal growth and leadership has also been recognized through his selection as a Handshake America Scholar, an honor awarded to students who demonstrate perseverance, integrity, and leadership potential.

In addition to his academic accomplishments, William has excelled as a member of the New Albany High School varsity football team. His talent and discipline on the field have earned him the opportunity to continue his athletic career at Washington University, where he has committed to play football while pursuing his higher education.

Beyond academics and athletics, William is deeply committed to serving his community. His volunteer work reflects a heart for leadership and inclusion. For two years, he served as a leader at his church’s Vacation Bible School camp, organizing Bible lessons and games to engage and inspire younger children. He also volunteered as a classroom assistant at Safety Town for two years, helping to teach children essential safety skills.

William’s dedication to inclusion is evident in his role as a volunteer with the Buddy Dance, an event designed to create a welcoming environment for special education students to celebrate and connect. He also serves with the Miracle League, where he teaches baseball to children with disabilities, promoting confidence, joy, and sportsmanship.

For his senior seminar project, William gained valuable professional experience through an internship at Busch Tax Company, where he developed skills in finance and workplace professionalism.
