St. Benedict Catholic School will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday as a result of a significant outbreak of illness among students and staff. Principal Kristen Johnson announced the temporary closure, emphasizing the need to prioritize health and safety.
In addition to canceling classes, the school is suspending extracurricular activities, including sports practices and scouts, urging families to focus on recovery. Johnson also noted that other Catholic schools are considering similar closures due to the outbreak.
“We understand this may cause challenges for some, but we feel this is the best course of action to keep both students and staff safe and healthy,” she stated.
During the closure, the school will conduct deep cleaning and sanitization of classrooms and common areas to curb the spread of illness. The goal is to resume normal classes on Thursday, February 6.
