Dayton police arrested a 12-year-old boy on Sunday after he reportedly stabbed his 13-year-old brother in the abdomen at a home on Hoover Avenue. Officers arrived around 2:15 p.m.

The 13-year-old was taken to the hospital and is now in stable, non-life-threatening condition.

The 12-year-old was booked into the Juvenile Justice Center on charges of felonious assault and domestic violence. Police confirmed he had been arrested earlier this year for threatening to kill his brother and their mother.

Montgomery County Children’s Services has been notified, and Dayton Police’s Family Justice Center detectives are investigating.
