Ohio Unleashes $5 Million Powerhouse to Conquer Childhood Cancer
Ohio is taking a giant leap forward in the fight against pediatric cancer! Governor Mike DeWine has announced a $5 million statewide investment in groundbreaking research studies aimed at detecting and treating childhood cancer.
This incredible funding will support five Ohio-based healthcare and non-profit research organizations, including Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic, Dayton Children’s Hospital, Maple Tree Cancer Alliance, and Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
“Pediatric cancer research is vital to improve survival rates and understand the unique biology of childhood cancers,” Governor DeWine emphasized. Ohio’s leadership is paving the way for innovative solutions, and the results are promising – childhood cancer survival rates have soared from 20% in the 1970s to over 80% today!
