CCS Announces New Assistant Principalships for the 2024-2025 School Year

Columbus City Schools is pleased to announce three new assistant principalships as part of the 2024-2025 school year.
Berwick Alternative K-8: Elaine Turner has been appointed as the new Assistant Principal of Berwick Alternative K-8. With a tenure at Columbus City Schools since 2009, she has served as a classroom teacher and Instructional Coach, enhancing instructional practices and fostering collaboration. She has also been the Summer Experience Elementary District Coordinator since 2017, showcasing her skills in planning and professional development. Turner holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, along with a 5-year Professional Principal License. Her goal-oriented, collaborative, and organizational skills are expected to contribute positively to the Berwick K-8 community.
Centennial High School: Celeste Gaver has been appointed as the new Assistant Principal at Centennial High School. With a career at Columbus City Schools since 2010, she has served as an Adapted Physical Education Teacher and Leadership Intern, collaborating on evidence-based strategies and equitable access to resources. Gaver holds a Master of Arts in Physical Activity and Educational Services from Ohio State University and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership Studies from Ashland University. Her experience and dedication to creating equitable learning environments align with Centennial High School’s mission. The school is enthusiastic about the positive impact she is expected to bring.
Columbus International High School: Elizabeth Miller has been appointed as the new Assistant Principal at Columbus International High School. She holds a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Ashland University and a Bachelor’s in Education from The Ohio State University. Her background includes serving as a Leadership Intern at Centennial High School, where she supported teachers and fostered an inclusive environment, and as an 8th Grade Science and Social Studies teacher at South High School, where she improved test scores and built strong relationships with the school community. Miller has also contributed to various committees, showcasing her commitment to student success. Her expertise and passion are expected to greatly benefit Columbus International High School.
