The Ohio Department of Public Safety has appointed Kelli Cary as the new coordinator for the Governor’s Human Trafficking Task Force and hired Kathy Chen as a Special Population Anti-Trafficking Specialist.
Kelli Cary has returned to Ohio after a two-year tenure as CEO of AncoraTN, an organization combating human trafficking in central Tennessee. Previously, Cary held positions in Ohio with RAHAB Ministries, the Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center, and the Salvation Army, focusing on serving the human trafficking community.
Kathy Chen serves as a Special Population Anti-Trafficking Specialist, collaborating with local human trafficking task forces and law enforcement agencies to combat illicit massage businesses. These businesses are frequently fronts for promoting and participating in human trafficking activities.
Since starting in January, Kathy Chen has been renewing her connections with local task forces and resource providers. The focus is on collaboration among law enforcement, victim services, and culturally specific organizations to effectively prosecute crimes related to human trafficking.
