Local High School Cancels Classes Due to Air Conditioning Issues

Horizon Science Academy High School, a local charter school, will not hold classes on Monday, August 18, due to ongoing air conditioning problems.
The same issue forced the school to cancel classes on Friday, leaving students without instruction for two consecutive school days. It is not yet clear whether classes will resume on Tuesday, as officials continue to assess the situation.
Every child has the right to learn in a safe and conducive environment. When basic facilities such as air conditioning are not functioning, it disrupts education and hinders students’ ability to thrive academically. Ensuring proper learning conditions must remain a priority so that children’s education is not compromised.
