Six Children Injured in Springfield Township School Bus Crash
A Springfield Local School District bus was involved in a crash Thursday morning in Springfield Township, according to a press release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 11:09 a.m. on Wexford Hill Lane. Preliminary investigation indicates that Cory Wampler, 45, of Toledo, was backing out of his driveway when he failed to yield and struck the right side of the school bus.
At the time of the crash, the bus, operated by Charles Stambaugh, 67, of Holland, was traveling west on Wexford Hill Lane. There were 38 children on board. Six of them sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
The OSHP’s Toledo Post is continuing to investigate the incident.
