Four Teens Charged in Deadly April Shooting in East Columbus

Columbus Police have arrested four teenagers, two girls and two boys, in connection with the April 28 shooting death of Jamal Jones, 34, in east Columbus.
Key Details:
- The female children, ages 17 and 15, were taken into custody on May 6 and placed in the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.
- The two male children, ages 12 and 15, had charges filed against them earlier after a May 2 interview with detectives.

All four teens are linked to Jones’ murder and a separate robbery involving another affected person, Jose Castillo.
The shooting happened around 4 a.m. on April 28 in the 1300 block of Fountain Lane. Police arrived to find Jamal Jones with a gunshot wound. Despite efforts by officers and medics, he was pronounced dead at 4:38 a.m. at a local hospital.
