An Ohio social worker admitted to sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy she had been counseling. Payton Shires pleaded guilty to four counts of unlawful sexual misconduct with a minor, two counts of intimidation of a victim or witness and one count of inducing panic.
Following her initial arrest, reports indicated that Shires went to the boy’s home armed with a gun, displaying erratic behavior that prompted police intervention.
Payton Shires, facing a potential maximum sentence of 28.5 years in prison, awaits her fate to be decided by a judge next month. Her arrest in October stemmed from text messages found by the boy’s mother, leading to charges related to the sexual abuse of the 13-year-old.
