Springfield Schools: Roosevelt Middle Gets New Principal
The Springfield City School District has appointed Ashley Lemen as the new principal of Roosevelt Middle School, effective August 1. Lemen succeeds long-time principal Monte Brigham, who recently retired after 26 years of dedicated service.
A proud Roosevelt alumna, Lemen brings over 20 years of experience within the district, most recently serving as assistant principal at Schaefer Middle School. Her deep-rooted connection to the community and extensive leadership experience position her well for this next chapter.
Heidi Shanor, director of educational leadership, praised the appointment, saying Lemen “will leverage her vast and varied experience in leadership to complement the strengths and needs of Roosevelt’s community.”
Lemen’s first goal as principal is to connect with students, families, and staff, taking the time to listen and learn as she steps into this important role.
