Police responded to a hotel on Tiffany South early Sunday morning after receiving complaints of loud noise and teens running through the hallways. The incident began when a hotel manager alerted officers just before 1 a.m., reporting multiple guest complaints and suspecting that several teens were staying in a room without adult supervision. The manager also noted that the room exceeded its four-person occupancy limit.
Upon arriving, officers encountered numerous teens in the hallways. After some initial hesitation from those involved, police determined that 15 teenagers, ranging in age from 12 to 17, were staying in the room. All were out past curfew and unaccompanied by guardians.
During a search of the teens, police discovered a 14-year-old girl with a handgun concealed in her waistband. When officers attempted to confiscate the weapon, the girl tried to grab it back, leading to her arrest. She was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, obstructing official business, and resisting arrest.
Further investigation revealed another firearm that had been thrown out of the hotel room window, along with an empty tequila bottle. Inside the room, officers also found a second empty tequila bottle in the bathroom.
A 16-year-old girl was also arrested for obstructing official business after she allegedly misled officers about contacting her mother to pick her up.
