In 2024, 82 foster children in Hamilton County, Ohio, achieved a remarkable milestone by graduating from local high schools, setting a record. The Hamilton County Job & Family Services is recognizing and celebrating these graduates from schools like Oak Hills High School and Dohn Community High School.
Key Highlight:
- The organization celebrated its 25th annual Celebration of Dreams ceremony, where 82 graduates were honored, marking the most in program history. On Instagram, they expressed gratitude to everyone involved in supporting the graduates’ journey.
- Alana Johnson, one of the graduates, expressed her intention to study social work at UC Blue Ash College to advocate for children in need, citing her own challenging experiences in the foster care system.
- Emily Day, another graduate, shared her journey to graduation, emphasizing the lack of familial support and the importance of community assistance for foster children.
- Hamilton County Job & Family Services Director Michael Patton commended the graduates’ hard work and achievements. Currently, there are approximately 1,900 children in the Hamilton County foster care system.
