CINCINNATI, Ohio-In 2024, 82 foster children from Hamilton County, Ohio, marked a significant achievement by graduating from various local high schools. This event was celebrated during the 25th annual Celebration of Dreams ceremony hosted by the Hamilton County Job & Family Services. Among the graduates, Alana Johnson shared her plans to pursue social work at UC Blue Ash College, inspired by her own experiences within the foster care system.
Emily Day, another graduate, highlighted the challenges faced by foster children and emphasized the importance of community support. Michael Patton, the director of Hamilton County Job & Family Services, praised the graduates for their hard work and success. This achievement is notable given the difficulties faced by foster children, with around 1,900 children currently in the Hamilton County foster care system.
