NORTH CANTON, Ohio-North Canton police officer Todd Shafer, a Purple Heart recipient injured twice in Afghanistan, saved a 16-year-old boy’s life by performing CPR when the teen was found unresponsive on a basketball court. Shafer’s quick response and medical training were crucial in reviving the teen, who had stopped breathing.
Despite downplaying his heroism, Shafer’s actions were praised by the boy’s family, who credited him with saving their loved one’s life. Another officer, Alexis Keeton, also saved a woman’s life on the same day, earning recognition from the North Canton Police Chief.
