Ohio’s 18th baby box will be dedicated in Deerfield Township Wednesday. It’s located at Deerfield Fire Station 58, on Kings Mills Road. Ohio’s Safe Haven Law allows parents in crisis to surrender newborns at places like fire stations and hospitals, no questions asked. Baby boxes offer privacy to the parents, while still allowing a medical professional to immediately retrieve the baby.
