SALISBURY TOWNSHIP, Ohio-The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania have received $251,000 in grant money through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to enhance their Camp Mountain House in Salisbury Township. This historic day camp accommodates 30 to 40 campers weekly, offering Lehigh Valley girls a technology-free environment to engage in outdoor activities and try new experiences like archery, hiking, and cooking.
State Sen. Nick Miller and state Rep. Milou Mackenzie commended the initiative, highlighting the camp’s 85-year legacy and the positive impact of modern improvements. The CEO of the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania, Kim E. Fraites-Dow, expressed gratitude for the funding, emphasizing its role in enhancing outdoor experiences for girls in the region. With approximately 4,000 girls served each summer across six camps, this funding aims to enrich the camping experience and promote personal growth among participants.
