< 1 min read

CINCINNATI, Ohio-Iranetta Wright, leader of Cincinnati Public Schools, is resigning following a vote of “no confidence” from the unions. The CPS Board announced her resignation during a public meeting, stating they will seek an interim superintendent and successor. Despite a motion to deny Wright’s resignation, the board voted 5-2 to accept it, effective Monday.

Union presidents expressed gratitude for the board’s decision, aiming to ensure the success of all CPS stakeholders. Wright, unaware of the impending vote, expressed surprise during a radio interview, citing efforts to collaborate with union leaders. She outlined her listening and learning approach and emphasized her commitment to addressing concerns, but acknowledged the need to avoid becoming a distraction.
