SPRINGFIELD, Ohio-Clifton Hodges, known for his successful tenure as girls basketball coach at Springfield High School, has now taken on the coaching role at Central Catholic. Despite facing a different starting point with the Fighting Irish, Hodges brings experience and energy to the program. He inherits a team with several returning players but has to fill the gap left by graduated seniors.
Hodges, a Springfield graduate, decided to take on the Central Catholic opportunity after initially planning to take a year off. His success at Springfield, including back-to-back 20-win seasons and a regional final appearance, made him an attractive choice for Central Catholic. Hodges emphasizes building a good culture and teaching players how to win, traits he hopes to instill in the Central Catholic team.
