DEFIANCE, Ohio-Defiance City Schools are investigating former teacher Andrew Coressel for an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student, Superintendent Robert Morton confirmed. Coressel, a math teacher at Defiance High School, resigned immediately upon being confronted about the allegations.
The district took swift action upon learning of the accusations, and the matter has been referred to the Defiance Police Department for investigation. Coressel expressed remorse in a statement, acknowledging inappropriate correspondence with a student and apologizing for any harm caused to the school community. No criminal charges have been filed against him at this time.
