MOUNT VERNON, Ohio-The Knox County Career Center Schools District School Board has proposed a 1.5 mill continuing permanent improvement levy for the Nov. 7 ballot, the first of its kind since 1994. The levy aims to fund essential infrastructure and equipment needs, including building upkeep, safety measures, and technology upgrades.
With an estimated cost of $53 per year per $100,000 property value, the levy seeks to address the evolving educational requirements of over 630 high school students, 44 preschoolers, and over 230 adults served by the district. The district has been proactive in maintenance and planning since 2015, conducting assessments and strategic plans for growth and expansion, collaborating with local businesses and industries to enhance programming.
