HAMILTON, Ohio-The Hamilton County school board revised the 2024-25 calendar after facing criticism, opting for two full teacher planning days instead of four half-days. Initially, the calendar included seven half-days, but the update reduces them in favor of more substantial planning time.
The amendment was passed with a 10-1 vote, with one member opposing. The first semester will span from August 7 to December 20, consisting of 89 days, while the second semester will run from January 8 to May 22, comprising 91 days. The additional planning days will occur on Wednesdays in September.
