OAKWOOD, Ohio-A local Career Technology Center is undergoing expansion to include advanced manufacturing space, benefiting students from Centerville, Kettering, and Oakwood. Kettering schools are renovating their CTC, adding nearly 2,000 square feet of space at Fairmont High School, funded in part by $2.8 million allocated by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine.
This initiative aims to provide students with additional career and educational opportunities, aligning with the demands of local businesses. Angelia Erbaugh, president of the Dayton Region Manufacturers Association, emphasizes the importance of career tech programs in supporting the thriving manufacturing sector in Dayton, where numerous companies employ over 130,000 individuals, offering competitive salaries above the state average.
