OXFORD, Ohio-Miami University received an ultra-high vacuum scanning tunnel microscope (UHV STM) through a partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Materials and Manufacturing Division at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Perry Corbett, Assistant Professor of Physics at Miami University, oversaw the retrofitting and repair of the STM. Corbett collaborated with UES Inc. and AFRL in his previous role, as stated in a news release from the university.
