Ohio Governor Declares Emergency After Severe Storms That Killed 3

Aprl 8th, 2024-COLUMBUS, Ohio-Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has declared a state of emergency in 11 central Ohio counties following severe weather last week. The Ohio National Guard has been activated to assist with cleanup efforts in Logan County, where three deaths occurred. The emergency declaration encompasses several counties and mandates state departments and agencies to aid in response and recovery efforts.

Thursday’s storms resulted in significant damage across multiple states, including injuries and property damage. The National Weather Service confirmed nine tornadoes in Ohio, including an EF-3 tornado with winds up to 136 to 165 mph. Additionally, EF-2 tornadoes were confirmed in several counties.
