CANTON, Ohio-Canton City Schools officials debunk rumors of McKinley High School relocating downtown, reiterating that there are no plans for such a move. Superintendent Jeff Talbert addressed the issue in the quarterly Bulldog Bulletin, emphasizing that despite previous considerations in 2022, the district abandoned plans to move the high school and instead focused on constructing two new elementary schools.
Voters approved a bond issue in May 2023 to fund the construction of the new elementary schools, which are expected to be ready by the 2026-2027 school year. Talbert highlighted the district’s commitment to providing students with a modern education, acknowledging the need to address the outdated facilities at McKinley High School.
