Walker says Public Schools ‘Under Attack’ from Vouchers

< 1 min read

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-In his final meeting as a school board member, Paul Walker criticized the voucher system, which he believes is detrimental to public education. Praised by fellow board member Bill Clifford for his dedication to students and sound decision-making, Walker expressed concerns about the financial impact of vouchers on public schools.

He argued that the voucher system, initially intended to assist struggling students, now diverts taxpayer funds to private education and undermines public schools. Superintendent Francis Scruci urged attendees to voice concerns to state representatives regarding school funding and the state report card system. Walker’s remarks reflect broader concerns about the challenges facing public education.
