GARFIELD HEIGHTS, Ohio-Garfield Heights City Schools are investigating an assault involving a pre-school student, Cavontay James Jr., who has autism. His parents allege that a teacher forcefully dragged him across the carpet during a meltdown in a special education class.
The incident occurred on April 4, but the parents were not informed until April 9. They argue that the teacher should have handled the situation differently and are demanding answers from the Board of Education. Cavontay Jr. will not return to the school, and the parents are meeting with the Board of Education on April 12 to address the issue.
