April 8th,2024-NEW CARLISLE, Ohio-The Clark County Sheriff’s Office stated that charges are unlikely in the accidental shooting involving a 10-year-old in New Carlisle over the weekend. The child, who is mentally disabled, accessed a secured gun in a locked vehicle’s glovebox while visiting family.
Despite the child being unsupervised for a brief period, charges are not expected due to the circumstances and the child’s condition. The child is stable and recovering after surgery for the lower torso injury. Investigations are ongoing, but authorities are almost certain no charges will be filed.
